Quarry reclamation plan: 161 dump trucks of waste dirt every day for 4 years, almost a million tons of dirt deposited in the quarry, trucks coming down Highway 1 and turning in at the old quarry road, then exiting at the Reina Del Mar intersection, near Vallemar school. Imagine the impacts on the highway that will have and the safety hazards to school children, parents, pedestrians.
The quarry reclamation plan and Environmental Impact Report (EIR) are scheduled to be heard by the Planning Commission on March 6. You can attend the meeting in person at 2212 Beach Blvd. or livestream it on your computer or phone and call in to comment. Instructions are at the beginning of the agenda. The agenda is not posted until a few days before the meeting. It’s possible that the quarry hearing could be delayed so you should check the agenda to see if it’s on there.
You can submit written comments to the Planning Commission up until noon on the day of the meeting. Submit comments to publiccomment@pacifica.gov.
